Spirituality

A spiritual process means to constantly transform what you call as “myself” right now into a higher possibility. If you make assumptions about what is the ultimate possibility, then the process is destroyed.

The more you make your thoughts (beliefs) into your identity, the more cut off you are from the spiritual dimension within yourself.

We don't need more Hindus, more Christians or more Muslims - we need more Buddhas, more Jesuses, and more Krishnas - then there will be true change. Every human being has that inner potential.

Spirituality must be distinguished from religion—because people of every faith, and of none, have had the same sorts of spiritual experiences.

I cannot tell you any spiritual truth that deep within you don’t know already. All I can do is remind you of what you have forgotten.

A human being is a part of the whole, called by us the 'Universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separate from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.

How spiritual you are has nothing to do with what you believe but everything to do with your state of consciousness.

It is a medical fact that even when a physical leg is amputated, the sensory leg is still intact. The sensory body has its own presence beyond the physical body. There is a way to enlarge your sensory body. If you make your life energies very exuberant and ecstatic, your sensory body becomes as large as you want it. Yoga is to expand the boundary of your sensation in such a way that you experience the whole universe as a part of yourself. Everything becomes one. That is union.

So the source of creation is within you right now and that is joyfulness. If this fundamental force of creation finds expression in your life, if you allow it to move out, joyfulness is just the only way you can be.

You are not separate from the whole. You are one with the sun, the earth, the air. You don't have a life. You are life.

You are not IN the universe, you ARE the universe, an intrinsic part of it. Ultimately you are not a person, but a focal point where the universe is becoming conscious of itself. What an amazing miracle.

Spiritual process is essentially about exploring a dimension which is not physical, which is not psychological.

If people believe the world is here to satisfy them, whenever they begin to encounter their limitations, they become unhappy again. They don’t realize that the world—and by that I mean anything in the world of form, physical form, some mental forms, or emotional forms—cannot give you lasting fulfillment or satisfaction or tell you who you are. They don’t realize what they are looking for is on the formless level, and they’re seeking it on the level of form and that leads to the frustration of human existence.

The whole aspect of spirituality is to go beyond that discrimination, beyond the survival instincts, which is for the physical. Samadhi is a certain state of equanimity where the intellect goes beyond its normal function of discrimination. This in turn, loosens one from his physical body or there is a space between what is you and your body.

In the stillness of your presence, you can feel your own formless and timeless reality as the unmanifested life that animates your physical form. You can then feel the same life deep within every other human and every other creature. You look beyond the veil of form and separation. This is the realization of oneness. This is love.
