The physical needs logic. For that which is beyond the physical, logic is of no use.
Children only need inspiration. It’s the teachers who need correction.
Yoga is about living strong, not just eating vegetables, twisting yourself out, or closing your eyes.
The word “yoga” means union. Union means you begin to experience the universality of who you are. Once you experience yourself as everything, or everything as yourself, after that nobody has to tell you how to be in this world. If you experience all the people here as yourself, does anybody have to teach you morals as to how to be? Does anybody have to tell you “don’t harm this person, don’t kill this person and don’t rob this person?” So when you are in yoga, you experience everything as a part of yourself, that is ultimate freedom.
Today, when I see the way yoga is being used especially in the West, I feel like crying. What is a tremendous possibility, what could be a ladder to the divine is being used in such a meager way.
If I tell you a fairytale, you have only two options: either to believe me or disbelieve me. If you believe me, it will not get you anywhere. If you disbelieve me, it will still not get you anywhere. The only thing is, if you believe me, you have an interesting story to tell someone. If you disbelieve, your life is barren. That's all the difference between believers and disbelievers.
Believing things which are not yet a reality in your life means somewhere you are lying to yourself, isn't it? Does it mean to say I must disbelieve? Disbelieving is also lying to yourself. Somebody believes in this, somebody disbelieves in that: both of them are believing something. One person believes it is true, another person believes it is false: both of them are believing something that they do not know.
Optimists hallucinate; pessimists get depressed. Both will not get anywhere. You must be willing to see everything the way it is.
This is an extremely simple process called Isha Kriya, very simple in terms of action. Irrespective of your caste, creed, religion, community or race, everybody breathes, and everybody has a thought, so there is no issue. Every day you can just give yourself a few minutes in the morning or before going to bed and do this process. Gradually you will see the distinction between what’s you and what’s your body gets established over a period of time. Once it’s very clear, now, your perspective of life is very, very, different. The way you deal with yourself, and everything around will be very, very, different.
If you do not experience the universality of who you are, the boundlessness of who you are, this human form has gone waste upon you. To eat, sleep, reproduce, and die you don’t need this kind of body, this kind of intelligence, this kind of awareness.
