The one thing that you don’t want in your life is emptiness. All the trouble that you take on in your life in terms of education, family, profession, money and problems, is because somehow, you want to ensure that your life is not empty. That’s all you are trying to do, at any cost. But if you become empty consciously, that is the ultimate nectar of life. And yet, in your normal perception, it is absolute poison. Nobody wants it. But if you drink it, it becomes your nectar.
If the divine has to enter you and manifest itself within you, you need empty space. Otherwise, all that is there is just the devil of your mind. Only if emptiness happens, divine-ness will happen to you. You have known love, joy and peace only in moments of emptiness – all the beautiful things have happened to you only in moments of emptiness. But logically and mentally, you think emptiness is the one thing that you don’t want. It looks like poison, but it is nectar.
We are all unique! each one of us is different and it is so wonderful that we are different. We may spring from the same oneness of our interiority but as human beings as individuals every one of us is unique.
Once you begin to enjoy the uniqueness of life, oneness will happen out of that.
Your psychological reality is determining the very fundamentals of your life, not the existential reality.
What we call 'Inclusive Economics' is empowering the whole of humanity to participate in a robust and all-inclusive economic process. For example, providing good health care and quality education for the underprivileged or disadvantaged populations is not charity but an investment; it creates quality human resources and expands markets, furthering the reach and scope of the economic engine. This does not mean going back to failed systems like communism or socialism, but administering and driving the economic engine in a gentler and compassionate way that will lead to including every human being on the planet into the economic process; leaving more than 50% of the population out of an active involvement in the economic process does not make good business sense. For this process to sustain itself, it is imperative that it be driven not by personal ambition, but by vision. It is extremely important that individuals in key leadership positions who shape the life and future of humanity are firmly established in an inner experience of inclusiveness. So this has become my life, my work and my endeavor -- to develop methods to help people experience this inclusiveness.
These are the two aspects fulfilled by masculine and feminine. From here on, when I say masculine and feminine, I want you to disengage these from being male and female. The natural tendency of the masculine is outgoing, it wants to take care of the survival process, it wants to take care of somebody. It doesn’t feel fulfilled unless it takes care of something. The natural tendency of the feminine is not like that; the feminine is absorbing, it creates an ambience of a certain beauty, love and gentleness.
Yoga is not a practice - the word yoga means union. It does not mean standing on your head, twisting your body or holding your breath. Yoga means to know the union of life. When you experience everything as a part of yourself, you are in yoga.
Hatha yoga does not mean twisting your body, standing on your head, or holding your breath. There was a time when I was personally teaching hatha yoga as a two-day program. People would burst with joy; tears of ecstasy would flow simply doing asanas. That is the way yoga needs to be done. Unfortunately, the hatha yoga in the world today brings peace for some, is healthful for others and is a painful circus for many.
What you are calling as yogasanas is just to get this body geometrically in line with the cosmic geometry. If you learn to just hold it right, you can download the whole cosmos. This is yoga. If you simply sit right, everything that’s worth knowing can be known to you from within.
