Commitment does not mean aggressiveness; this must be understood. This is where Mahatma Gandhi’s example is so apt. He was committed to India’s freedom struggle, but at the same time he was not against the British people. That was the best part, wasn’t it? This shows the maturity of the man.
Morality may work to keep balance in the society at times, but it will not work for individual growth and evolution. Once a person begins to recognize life as life, then there is no need for morals, you know how to be.
A world full of love, light and laughter. Its time has come. Let us make it happen.
You must decide whether you have come here to experience life or to avoid life.
If parents are truly concerned about their children, they must raise their children in such a way that the child will never have any need for the parent. The process of loving should always be liberating, not entangling. So when your children are born, allow them to look around, to spend time with nature and by themselves. Create an atmosphere of love and support. Allow them to grow, allow their intelligence to grow and help them look at life on their own terms, as human beings – not identified with the family, wealth, or anything else. Just helping them to look at life as human beings is very essential for their well being and also that of the world.
Your home should not be a place for you to impose your culture, ideas and morals upon your children. It should instead be a supportive atmosphere. If children feel most comfortable at home, they will naturally try to spend more time there than outside. Right now, a street corner may feel like a more comfortable place for them than being at home because of the impositions they face.
The reason why somebody is free of prejudice is that his identifications are not too strong. The moment your identification is strong with something you are naturally prejudiced towards that.
I am not against drink or pleasure. The question is not about, ‘Is this wrong or is this right?’ This is not about a moralistic standpoint. I just think it is a pity that human beings are settling for such small pleasures when something far bigger is possible within themselves.
Confidence without clarity can be disastrous. You can't see clearly but you are very confident. Could it be disastrous? Yes, definitely. If your vision is not clear but you are a very confident driver, isn't it going to be disastrous?.
How to bring about this clarity is the only question. Instead of striving for clarity, people are always striving for confidence. 'God is holding my hand'- you feel confident. It makes you very confident and this confidence has destroyed the world in so many ways. If you do something stupid today in your life, tonight your intelligence will bother you: 'Why did I do this?' But if you believe in something hundred per cent and you believe you are doing God's work, then you are utter confidence. Whatever nonsense you do, you have no regret at all. You can go on doing it with total confidence because God is endorsing your stupidity; so where is the need to hesitate about anything? There is no hesitation. But if you do something stupid all by yourself, it definitely bothers you, isn't it?. If you do something foolish, your intelligence has to poke you and bother you every day. Then and only then does it evolve.
This moment is inevitable.
